Creation, Procreation or Incarnation - Which?
by Robert Schmid

In the beginning God…” This is a statement of fact, not expected to be questioned or debated. However, man(kind) living under the curse of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, has done precisely that and has developed a multitude of definitions of “God” that are indeed “good and evil.”

God presents Himself as the Almighty who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. In other words, everything in the universe, including the universe itself, had a beginning, and God is the cause of all beginnings.

But, man (kind) in his fallen state still asks the question: Who created God and when was His beginning? All I can say is that there are no correct answers to false questions.

In the beginning was the Word…” That is also a statement of fact, not expected to be questioned or debated. However, man (kind) living under the curse of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, has done precisely that and has developed a multitude of definitions of the word “Word” that are indeed “good and evil.”

God presents Himself as the Almighty who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them, through and by His Word. God spoke, and it was! His Word was (obviously) always with Him, and His Word (obviously) was Him.

But, man (kind) in his fallen state still asks the question: Who was the Word? This, even though John 1:1 clearly says that the “Word was God,” not a second God, but The God.

John 1:14 then tells us that “the Word (of God) became flesh”, became the Son (of God) and was named Jesus by God His Father.

This then raises the question: Who is Jesus Christ?

The question, who is Jesus Christ, has been debated throughout the world, since His birth, now for over 2000 years, and has been written about in innumerable books and literature of every kind, and yet, would still be answered differently by every individual from without and from within Christian churches. Unbelievably, but one of the great controversies of the third century, and to this day, is to come up with an acceptable definition of the relationship between God the Father and His Son Jesus!

Why is this and how can this be? How can we all claim His name and fame and yet have no common understanding of who He was and who He is? How can we not understand the relationship between the Father and his Son, considering that every child has experienced first hand what the relationship is between a father and his child?

Jesus Christ Himself quizzed His disciples about that question when He asked them: “Who do men say that I the Son of man am?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

That question is obviously directed at us today as much as it was to the disciples then. Simon Peter replied for all of us when he said: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus then confirmed that the answer was correct when He said: “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”

Considering that the answer was confirmed by Jesus personally, we can be sure that the answer was not only correct, but complete, in order to know the answer to the question: Who is Jesus Christ? The answer is: Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

So, first of all, Jesus Himself said He was the Son of man by being born of Mary, and God clearly stated that Jesus was the Son of God by being begotten/sired of God. In other words, being born of a human being made Him a born human being, and being begotten of God made Him a begotten God Being.

Considering the above answer, why then is Jesus still an enigma to so many.

There are three methods by which man believes that a being/person can come into existence:

By CREATION
Only God creates. He created Angelic beings. He then created one human being, Adam, out of the dust of the ground by speaking him into existence through His Word. Eve was made out of Adam. Angels and Adam are called sons of God, because they were created by God. Adam and Eve were not given the power and ability to create other human beings.

By INCARNATION
Here is the definition of incarnation: A BEING that already exists is endowed with a human body. An appearance in human form. In Christian (Catholic) Theology: effectuation of the hypostatic union through the conception of the second person in the Trinity in the womb of the Virgin Mary. That is precisely the belief and teaching of Catholicism, Protestantism and the Churches of God.

Jesus Christ pre-existed His birth and existed before He was born of God, appearing in human form through an incarnation and birth through Mary.

The problem is that incarnation and re-incarnation are mythological concepts that are neither scriptural, nor can they be substantiated “by the things that are made.”

By PROCREATION
In procreation, Adam had it within himself to beget/sire other human beings because he was created in the image of God who has it within Himself to beget/sire other God Beings.

Cain and Abel were begotten of Adam and are therefore known as the sons of Adam.

Jesus Christ was begotten of God and is therefore known as the Son of God. True son ship, whether human or divine, can only come through procreation.

So, the question: How did Jesus come into existence, answers itself.

If Jesus came into existence by being CREATED of God, Jesus would not really and not literally be the Son of God and God would not really and not literally be His Father. As a created being, Jesus could not have defeated Satan and become the Savior of all mankind.

If Jesus came into existence by an INCARNATION, then He did not really and not literally become the Son of God 2000 years ago. An existing eternal God being would have came to earth as a human being, never ceasing to be fully God, and yet be able to die, a Biblical impossibility.

That leaves us with only one conclusion and that is that the living God, Jehovah Elohim, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob reproduced Himself, through His Word, 2000 years ago, by an act of PROCREATION when He fathered a Son whom He named Jesus. The ONE God of the Old Testament became God the Father, and the Word (of God) became the Son (of God), and these TWO God Beings now constitute the ONE God Family.

God said we would know the spiritual, would know Him, by the things He created (Rom. 1:19, 20). God created the process of procreation within Adam and Eve. All human beings, since Cain and Abel, including Jesus, have come into existence through procreation. No parent would ever say that his child existed before it was conceived, except in the parents mind. Only those who believe in INCARNATION and RE-INCARNATION believe and teach that a being/person literally existed before that being/person was begotten.

That brings us back to the question: “But, who do YOU say that I am?” Only YOU can and must, sooner or later, answer that question! God Himself answered the question when He said: “This (Jesus) is my beloved (firstborn) Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.”

The question is: Do you believe God or tradition?
