Choose YOU - this day, LIFE or DEATH!
by Robert Schmid

In the beginning God CREATED (spoke into existence through His word) the heavens and the earth, and Adam and Eve, and it was, not only good, it was “VERRY GOOD.”

However, prior to this another CREATION took place when God, through His word, spoke angelic, spirit beings into existence. One spirit being in particular, who is identified as Lucifer, was the pinnacle of God’s creation, “the signet of perfection,” “full of wisdom” and “perfect in beauty.”

But, before we go any further, let’s establish why God created angelic spirit beings and human physical beings to begin with?

The first question we need to ask is: Who was in the beginning?
The Word of God, the Holy Bible, both in Genesis 1:1 and in John 1:1 states that in the beginning was God, ONE God Being, who accomplished everything through His word which proceeds from His heart and mind.

What that means is that in the beginning WAS NOT:

  1. ONE God in THREE persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, as in the Roman Catholic Church trinity doctrine.
  2. ONE God in TWO persons – God the Creator and God the Spokesman, as in the (former) Worldwide Church of God twinity doctrine.

Angelic beings and human beings were created because the ONE God decided to have, and to be a FAMILY!

Not a family of CREATED beings such as angels and man are, but a true and literal family, children that are SIRED and BORN of God and are therefore SPIRIT GOD Beings as their Father is. The creation of angelic and human beings were simply necessities for God to reproduce Himself, to have children and to establish the (ONE) GOD FAMILY.

Let’s consider that God is the perfect Father who does not have children, i.e. a family by accident, and has planned (as all human fathers should) precisely when He would have His firstborn son, and He obviously is in complete control of when and how many additional children He will beget.

Let’s also consider that God knew for a certainty that every CREATED being, including Lucifer, the pinnacle of CREATED Spirit Beings, and Adam, the pinnacle of CREATED Human Beings, would ultimately fall short of divine perfection for the simple reason that the CREATURE can never be as perfect/sinless as the CREATOR.

And so, eventually, pride entered the perfectly created Spirit Being Lucifer until iniquity was found in him, so much so that he desired to assent to the very throne of God. In other words the CREATED wanted to become the CREATOR, the clay wanted to become the potter. Lucifer the “Light Bringer” became Satan the “Adversary” and one third of the angels became his minions, became “Demons.”

That brings us to the Garden in Eden, the abode of Adam and Eve. Adam was created by God from the dust of the ground and Eve was made from the rib of Adam. They were created in the image of God, meaning primarily that they could think and reason and make decisions as could God. They walked and talked with their Creator who instructed them in His ways and in His laws. They were taught only that which was right and good and had absolutely no knowledge of wrong and evil, and could therefore not commit any sin.

At this point let's remind us what this is all about, and what the purpose of human existence is. The purpose of human existence is to become a “child of God,” i.e. to become what God is, a sinless and divine God being in the (ONE) “God Family.”

We have established that not even the greatest CREATED spirit being could ever attain to this divine, sinless state of true son ship. Lucifer, at some point in his existence must have begun to realize and comprehend this, and he was not satisfied with his lot, to say the least. What Satan could not accept was that he could never become a true son of God. God was going to reproduce Himself and establish His Family through human beings, and not through angelic beings.

Let's continue now with the events in the garden of Eden and with the specific instructions God gave to the man Adam, saying, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall die.” What is the significance of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Let’s remember that Adam and Eve had no knowledge of evil and could therefore NOT sin. Now, God introduces another part of “His image” to them, the knowledge of evil, represented by Satan the Devil, to see if the instructions given by God would be followed.

As we know, “Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature that the Lord God had made,” and they both ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, ignoring God’s instructions and thereby severing their relationship with their Creator. In its place they entered into a spiritual relationship with Satan, making them begotten children of the false wanna-be god Satan. God’s pronouncement of judgment, both on Satan and on Adam and Eve, was swift and severe – the death penalty. Adam and Eve now had the knowledge of good AND EVIL, and their progenies, beginning with Cain and Abel, down to you and me, immediately showed the fruit of this knowledge, which was and is “evil continually.”

Let’s understand:
God has the knowledge of good and evil, but also the godly character to never commit evil.
Satan has the knowledge of good and evil, but with his evil character will always commit evil.
Man has the knowledge of good and evil, but with his evil character will always commit evil.

However, this was all a part of God’s plan to reproduce Himself through sinful man, but not until a solution for sinful man would be provided. And so we come to the more than 100 prophecies in the Old Testament of a coming Savior, the promised Messiah, and to John 1:14 in the New Testament that tells us that the Word (of God) became flesh, became the firstborn Son of God, named Jesus.

How did this happen? Through the mystery of an incarnation! NO! A thousand times NO! “For what can be known about God is plain (is NOT a mystery) to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” God is not a mystery! The birth of His firstborn Son is not a mystery! The process of procreation, i.e. the transfer of seed (sperm) from the male to the female was made by God within Adam and Eve and was therefore within every subsequent human being, so that we are all without excuse to know how Jesus, the firstborn Son of God came into existence. God, through Luke, plainly tells us: “THE SEED IS THE WORD OF GOD,” and it is the Word of God that BECAME the Son of God.

How then did the WORD of God become the SON of God? “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.” Mary was impregnated through the power of the Spirit of God, implanting God’s seed, His word, into Mary and she bore a son who was named Jesus by His Father God. That (not Genesis) is the BEGINNING of the true Family of God.

Here we can see how the family doctrine works hand in hand with the procreation doctrine where an existing Divine Being, God, is reproducing Himself through His Word. God having a Son via procreation.

That is in contrast to the trinity doctrine which works hand in hand with the incarnation doctrine where a (pre) existing Divine Being - JESUS, becomes the son of the other Divine Being - GOD. God having a son via incarnation.

The fundamental premise of God, to establish a family by reproducing Himself through procreation, is familiar to ALL man, for ALL man, except Adam and Eve, have come into existence through this process, so that ALL man are without excuse to know and to understand.

In contrast the (false) teachings of the trinity and the incarnation are acknowledged, even by its advocates, to be mysteries, impossible to understand and difficult to clearly define and explain.

In Deuteronomy 30, God says to Moses and by extension to all of us: “I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,…”

This plea from God Almighty in the Old Testament, is followed by the command of His Son in the New Testament, where Jesus explains to Nicodemus and by extension to all of us, that in order to choose and obtain (eternal) life: “You MUST be born again!

To be “born again,” spiritually, is an absolute necessity in order to overcome having the “knowledge of good and evil,” without ever committing evil, and to enter the Kingdom, the Family of God, as born children of God.

Once Adam and Eve, and by extension all of us, obtained the knowledge of “good AND evil,” there was only one (planned) solution and that is that physical, sinful man MUST be “born again,” born of God, and thereby become TRUE Sons of God, and TRUE brethren of our elder brother Jesus Christ. Man MUST become what God the Father is, sinless and divine. Man MUST become (a) God (Being)! Obviously, not God the Father and not God the firstborn Son for them already are. But, man MUST become additional born children of God to see and enter the Kingdom of God.

We are either begotten children of our spiritual father Satan, or, we are begotten children of our spiritual Father God. There is no other alternative! There is no third option! To be born of Satan would mean eternal death. To be born of God means eternal life, for, “No one born of God commits sin; for God’s nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.”

God has given man the choice between life and death and His plea is to “CHOOSE LIFE!”

Thank you Jesus, my Lord and my God, for making ETERNAL LIFE possible.
