The Difference Between Choice and Choice
by
Robert Schmid, April 2007
Adam and Eve had two choices:
Between RIGHT and WRONG and between RIGHT and RIGHT
God gave them many trees from which to CHOOSE, and they were to use their free will (image of God) to do so. In contrast, God gave them a COMMAND NOT to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. NO CHOICE WAS GIVEN!
A command was given which does not allow for a choice. Man, however, took it upon himself to make a choice, where no choice was given, where he was not supposed to make a choice but accept and follow the command of God.
For example, you are on top of a 20 story building. Do you have a choice whether to jump off the building or not? Yes and No! Yes, YOU can choose to jump of the building and violate the COMMAND of God not to kill. No, YOU can not choose to jump of the building and kill yourself, for the only true CHOICE is between the stairs, the elevator and the fire escape.
God provided plenty of room to exercise our free will and choose between one LAWFUL option and another LAWFUL option.
Once we eliminate the UNLAWFUL as a choice, we can never again make a truly wrong choice.
So remember: Even though it is your God given responsibility to choose, the choice should no longer be between GOOD and EVIL, RIGHT or WRONG, LAWFUL or UNLAWFUL, between GOD or SATAN. That choice should have been made on the day you were baptized when God said:
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you THIS DAY, that I have set before you LIFE and DEATH, BLESSING and CURSE; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live…”
Since that day, the only TRUE CHOICE you have is between LAWFUL options.
